Lemberk, Jan ; Polák, Martin (referee) ; Puchýř, Bohumil (advisor)
In this work we will deal with financial analysis of construction company and design possible solutions for stabilization. In the theoretical part of this work we will first focus briefly on the basic issues of macroeconomics, microeconomics, economic situation, especially in construction and perceive financial analysis of company. Based on this knowledge we will analyze a specific company and will draw possible solutions enabling us to achieve a profit or at least overcome the crisis period. For financial analysis will be the part of this work used primarily horizontal and vertical analysis ratios and analysis of financial statements.

The socioeconomic effects of microeconomic teaching
Štěpánová, Sára ; Červinka, Michal (advisor) ; Zeynalova, Olesia (referee)
The field of microeconomics has quite strong assumptions of rational and self-interested behaviour on which it builds its mathematical models. As such, it may be presented to the students of microeconomics as a norm and students may then behave more selfish in their decision-making, which would make the assumptions of microeconomics self-fulfilling. This study investigates whether the current teachings of microeconomics promote self-interest. It focuses on the influence that different forms of wording have on decision-making. It further compares students of economics and students of non-economic fields and inspects whether the exposure to microeconomics courses affects the decision-making of students. It replicates the experiment of Buchter (2020) and compares the results. The data was collected through three differently worded versions of an online questionnaire, randomly distributed among the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, both from economic and non- economic fields of study. The results showed that wording is the most significant factor for the decision-making of individuals. Field of study or the number of semesters of microeconomics did not have a significant effect on the respondents choices. Year of study had some effect on the decision-making of respondents,...

Household nutritional effects of the DICONSA food subsidy program
Dent, Felix ; Bauer, Michal (advisor) ; Janský, Petr (referee)
This thesis is an empirical research project assessing the household nutritional impact of the DICONSA food subsidy program in Mexico. By employing a combination of propensity score matching and OLS econometric approaches, I conduct an analysis of household survey data contained in La Encuesta Nacional de Ingresos y Gastos de los Hogares (ENIGH) from Mexico. I find strong evidence of a significant increase in household caloric intake in rural areas targeted by the program, driven primarily by increased consumption of DICONSA subsidised cereal products and corn grain in particular. I find no evidence of decreased caloric intake resulting from overriding income effects of subsidisation. However, my investigation into the specifics of participant household food expenditure data suggests that reselling of subsidised commodities may occur amongst poorer households.

Advertising
Pokorný, Jiří ; Cahlík, Tomáš (advisor) ; Koubek, Ivo (referee)
This thesis defines advertising very broadly - as any information that form consumers such that they change their consumption. Microeconomic models assume that consumers choose their consumption independently, and do not take into account that their wants can be changed due to actions of other market participants, which this thesis criticizes. Advertising is modelled with the Cobb-Douglas function as a good that is complementary to the good that is advertised. The models show that advertising decreases the total welfare only in some cases. If it is profitable for a firm to advertise, its production usually increases the total welfare. 1
